Porto Rafael: the heart of the Mediterranean Dolce Vita

Overlooking the Maddalena Archipelago, just a few kilometers from Palau and Porto Cervo, Porto Rafael holds a singular soul and history. At the center of this small paradise lies the Piazzetta - the beating heart of Count Rafael Neville’s vision, born decades ago when Porto Rafael emerged as a manifesto of an art de vivre inspired by the Dolce Vita. Today, the project aims to protect and enhance this uniqueness by translating the original spirit into a living, contemporary experience.
We developed an authentic narrative that connects past and present, shaping Porto Rafael as a microcosm of beauty, community, and Mediterranean culture. More than a destination, it is a project to be preserved and regenerated - communicating its values with clarity and transforming them into a distinctive promise of hospitality.

Visual identity

The visual identity translates Porto Rafael’s Mediterranean Dolce Vita into a living and contemporary visual language. Inspired by the Sardinian landscape and the sea, the symbol synthesizes three essential elements: the sun, marking a slow rhythm of time; the water, fluid and vital; and the octopus, a symbol of intelligence and adaptability. From the harmony of these forms emerges an abstract, evocative mark.
The identity unfolds across a constellation of sub-brands - hotels, restaurants, and bars - each distinct yet harmonized through a shared typographic voice and a color palette drawn from the shifting reflections of the sea. A striped pattern rooted in maritime tradition, enhanced by fluid gradients, introduces movement and modernity while continuously expressing the spirit of Porto Rafael.

The new website translates the visual identity into a complete and immersive digital experience, allowing users to fully engage with the essence of the place. Typography, color palette, patterns, and brand symbols come together in an elegant and contemporary design, enriched by custom illustrations and photography created in collaboration with Alex Moling, capturing the atmosphere of Mediterranean Dolce Vita.
Each element guides users through a 360° journey - from the story of the Piazzetta to hospitality, gastronomy, activities, and local points of interest. The website becomes a digital extension of the brand: not just a showcase, but a strategic tool that brings the magic, beauty, and unique experience of Porto Rafael to life online.
